Today I feel inspired to write a blog, which I have not done for quite some time now. For the last couple of months I have felt dry... As though I couldn't squeeze a drip of recent ponders from my brain to the black clavier where my fingers have rested; Waiting. Nothing. Today is nothing out of the ordinary, I experienced the silence of rested fingers just a minute ago but felt encouraged when I realized that no one will read this. I can write whatever I feel, even though I feel nothing yet am oddly motivated to write; but I have assurance that there will be no one there to critique my empty words. Hallelujah.
My life consists of... Work. On a day to day basis I am fighting the urge to call in sick. The push that motivates me to get out of bed is knowing that if I do call in sick, my poor mis-lead mother will be worried about what illness is keeping me from my duty of finding the poor youth of Winnipeg employment and will most likely take the trek to River Avenue at lunch hour to bring me food and sympathy. Oh the disappointment she would receive upon entering; to find me painting my nails or playing nintendo. The joys of working with Mom. It is now that she can stop repeating the words I despise to hear from her: "Be a woman of integrity". It is now that integrity is upon me; forcibly so. Unfortunately, yet fortunately, she is numb to that fact.
If only I could be satisfied with the slush soiling the back of my jeans. Summer seems far too distant, not to mention Fall: My goal, my prize. Daily I dream of textbooks, nervousness and re-kindeling my love affair avec le langue d'amour; Francais. As far away as Fall seems to be, saving money is my demon and my bank account is at an all-time low. With hopes of a maintaining a loan-free first year of university, I need to get on my A game. I will blame my worn out debit card on my living arrangement; Osborne Village. What else will I do but buy necklaces, bubble tea and boots? Nothing. I'll put my hope in summer being the solution; cycling the streets and walking the paths.
Here's to hoping... And to making it through the day.
*Cheers*
Love, Longlost V.

Mm hmm
There was snow on the ground this morning.
What'd I say about this week?
I really do need to get my butt in action to kick the shit out of winter. I'm not yet prepared though I did start comparing prices on sorels yesterday. The purchases will come in due time. As for now, I can't even begin to explain how happy I am about this newly draped white blanket that the grass beheld for my seeing pleasure this morning because there is nothing that would describe my joy. Not even an exclamation mark. Not even two.

Busy-bee
This week marks the best week of my life. Holy bold statement batman... As soon as I wrote that I was like "Wow... Really!?". Well the truth is, it's probably not but I'm an emotional person, what can I say. Right now it feels like it is. At any rate... this week has been fabulous, granted it's only 12:30 on Tuesday so there is still a lot of time remaining - allowing things to go sour... HOWEVER.. I'm in full faith that they won't. Ya know when you just feel like the world is on your side? That's how I feel this week. It's like there are too many things going right for things to go wrong. What a wonderful life I lead. Now I'll tell you why.
1. Last day at Travel Manitoba = TOMORROW
2. I got a new REAL job that starts on Monday. Two weeks off PAID at Christmas anyone? Yes, thank you, I'll take it.
3. I get to bake cupcakes tonight.
4. I am leaving on Thursday morning EARLY (like while it's still dark) to visit my sister and her family in Saskatoon!!
5. Yesterday I was at the mall and there were Christmas decorations being put up. I shed a couple of tears while walking through them... No lie.
6. I'm going to a halloween potluck at my sister's tomorrow and I'm going to dress up and have so much fun. Yayyyy!!! (Brit just shit).
7. The time changes on Sunday which means that it's going to get darker sooner at night which I love because I love dark.
Great stuff hey? Wow. I'm just so happy. The only thing that would make this week better would be if it snowed. It won't though, but ya know what? You have to spread out the good stuff.
Anyways I need to do some work now but I don't even mind because after tomorrow I'll never have to update Carberry Plains Museum ever again.
Wee ooo.

We would do long distance if we weren't so busy doing no distance
On Saturday night I went to Daly burger, then I went to Boo at the Zoo followed by a late night viewing of "Across the Universe". Let me tell you something, "Across the Universe" was more boo than the zoo. That's a fact.

Souvenir
Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone and it's subtitle reads "success". From Friday to Monday this girl was grinning (at least on the inside); nothing brings a grin more than a good ol' turkey. I LOVE meat.
Birds and expanded stomachs aside, the weekend brought more highlights than just those. Brunch avec the siblings was a new event for us kids, one that I would love to repeat. It sent us walking, nay - trotting down memory lane and laughs were flying as we did just that. Discussing R & J's parenting techniques guarantees a hilarious discussion and this time was no exception. If we had an agenda for brunch, it most certainly would have read "words that the parents made up and taught us". Not the most captivating title, but it's all I got right now. Anyways, upon blurting out different words that we thought were real as children, Drew and Nils have now proven them faulty. I'm sure urbandictionary.com wouldn't even carry them.
Here they are words and definitions, compliments of R & J Hiebert:
1. Goosie: Blowing/vibrating lips on someone's bare skin (usually on the stomach) It's spitty and funny.A.K.A (apparently) zerbert, raspberry, blow-skin...
2. Shniggle: The name of one arm-pit.
3. Fritz: The name of the other arm-pit.
4. BM: Short for bowel movement. We weren't allowed to say poo.
5. Poof: Fart.
I think that might be it. There may be more and for your entertainment's sake, I'm sorry if there are because I've forgotten. Needless to say, even my bed ridden self was busting a gut over these and I hope that if I'm ever a parent I also make up words and tell my kids they are real. I will most definitely be stealing "Shniggle and Fritz" from my parents - it will be grand.
Happy belated Thanksgiving.
Love Vanasty.

Bitter sweet
First things first, Academy Lanes is the place to be on a Thursday night. Watch me bail so hard next week, but as of right now I have full intentions of being there on a weekly basis. Last night was the first time I attended the recently dubbed traditional Thursday night attraction. The evening itself, though I subscribed to the event warily, proved quite successful; mostly sweet, yet there was a tad bit of bitterness as well. Allow me to explain myself...
The evening took off with four good attitudes in a civic arriving solo yet in style... Or not in style, I guess it really depends what you consider stylish these days. Regardless of what we were wearing, we typed our names into the screen for the first time (there were many changes made through out the evening by a seemingly immature teenager, however truth be told he's 20 and quite responsible... never would have guessed by the name he typed himself: Palmala Handerson), and started off our first game. I actually came in second which was quite miraculous considering my bowling techniques and the continuous distraction of the wonderful 80's music videos on the screen right above the pins. Strategically placed I'm sure. Following our first game, Nate's victory, with my spandexed self in tow, the boys lead the way outside with Marlboro Reds as our goal and prize. A cigarette all to my sober self? Why I'd never done such a thing as this before! Shocked and amazed at myself upon accomplishing my first soberly smoked butt in ground, I was in love with the drunken sensation that overwhelmed my body which was slowly making it's way to the ground. Yet before my muscles completely collapsed, men prevailed and steadied my wobbly body on... themselves. Thank-you's were in order and we shuffled ourselves inside. We made our way back to our lane, a crew of more boys showed up and before we knew it game number two had come and gone and we were on our way outside for our second dose of nicotine. Seconds later I was on the ground, seconds after that my head between my knees, seconds after that my cigarette was laying on the ground and after 10 more painful minutes in a car ride home, I was collapsed on the floor of the bathroom romancing the toilet. I leave the rest to your imagination. Actually I will not, why does smoking make you puke? That's all I want to know. Granted I'm quite the amateur inhaler - and I do commit right here, right now that I will never be an expert - but still... my question stands. Dazed and confused after my bathroom session I brushed my teeth and hit the sac. The night was more than done.
Fun was most definitely had, my blue spandex made their way out of the drawer again, and dancing was done in the alley... What more could you want from a Thursday night? Confusing yet wonderful, bitter yet sweet. I'll do it again next week with just one elimination: the tobacco.
Adios.
